Shutterfly Review-Photo Pillows and Christmas Cards

Shutterfly has been one of my favorite photo companies for a long time now and they keep adding great new products to their line. I received one of their new photo pillows and some classic Christmas cards to review.

Being in a military family, we are far away from family and friends so sending cards, especially at Christmastime, is something we enjoy doing each year. I love how Shutterfly has so many holiday card options and they are always coming out with more. One of the newer options that I noticed was the option to have rounded corners on the flat cards. They also have folded and tri-folded cards. Shutterfly even lets you decide if you want their signature cardstock, photo paper or their new pearl shimmer cardstock and there are several card size options as well and you can add one or more pictures.

For our main Christmas cards I ordered the regular folded cards that are blank and fit one photo. I decided to make a picture on my own as my husband is away and we have a new family member he has not met yet and I wanted to have us all in one picture, however, there are so many great cards to choose from I could also have chosen one that fits multiple pictures so we are all on the card. On the insides of the cards you are able to add your own text and more pictures. I added a Bible passage to the top and the bottom I added a Merry Christmas wish with room to write a personal message. Want to see my finished card? View it here.

I had all of my cards sent to me so that I can hand-write in them, but you can have them sent directly to your recipients as well. My entire order arrived very quickly–within a week at the most–which was a pleasant surprise this close to Christmas! Shutterfly has great card quality and I love ordering their cards. My Christmas cards just arrived and the quality is amazing; they turned out even better than I’d expected. I also ordered a few extra cards that were different–they are flat cards with rounded edges and I am in love with them! My package even had a few extra envelopes (they must know I tend to make mistakes when I am writing on them.) The cards were carefully nestled in a cardboard tray inside a cardboard box so they didn’t get bent at all. I am excited to see the reactions on the faces of my family and friends when they receive their cards!

As a military spouse with a deployed husband, I thought the pillow was a neat idea. My favorite design was the one that says “Home is where the ♥ is.” I put pictures that my husband has messaged to me of himself overseas because my heart is with him as far away as he might be. I love that you can change the photo colors as well and changed them to sepia as it looked neat with the pillow design. Ordering was simple. You can choose from multiple layouts using one or more pictures, choose size 16×16 or 18×18 and choose different colors for the design and back depending on the design! The covers have a hidden zipper and are able to be removed and machine washed. Pillows start at $34.99.

When my oldest son first saw the pillow with Daddy’s pictures he flipped out. He loves it and often goes to snuggle with it. I love the pillow as well; it goes perfectly with my décor and I love being able to look over at it and see pictures of my wonderful husband whom I really miss. The print quality is amazing even though I received a print quality warning. My only complaint would have to be that the pillow form inside seems a bit too small for the case so the picture towards the bottom folds a lot and the corners don’t fit. I have the 18×18 size but the pillow seems to be the 16×16 size. Besides that I am very satisfied with the pillow and it is so soft!

I also want to say a special thank you to Shutterfly here as they will have made this Christmas special for a family at our military base. A fellow military spouse recently passed away and Shutterfly so graciously agreed to give each of her kids a special photo gift with a picture of their mom on it.
