Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature Pacifier and Chewther Review

Disclaimer: I received a free product for my post! These views are my own and were not
at all influenced by the party who gave me this opportunity..

tommee tippee teether. pacifierTommee Tippee is a brand that I have trusted since using their bottles with my first son. I now have had the opportunity to try out some of their pacifiers! My newborn has been using the Closer to Nature C-AIR pacifiers for 0-3 months. They fit perfectly into his tiny, adorable mouth and he actually will keep it in when he needs it unlike others that he cannot get to stay in his mouth.

I am sure you have heard of all the dental horrors of giving a pacifier to your baby. Well, Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature C-AIR design was actually designed by a pediatric dentist and was created with a progressively staged silicone tip and an open air flow shield that expands to conform to your baby’s natural palate allowing teeth to grow in their proper positions reducing the risk of orthodontic problems as your child grows older. This product is also BPA free; this mommy approves!

We have heard in our birthing classes that recent studies have shown pacifier usage during sleep may help safeguard against SIDS. While this is not totally proven so I will not say it as fact, I do not mind allowing my little one a pacifier as he falls asleep and if it pops out it pops out. Sometimes the pacifier will help him to fall asleep–while I am all for getting him to self-soothe, he is still in the newborn stage and has been showing signs of colic so I am happy to help him get some rest as well as a breather myself. I also have found myself giving him the pacifier more as he will otherwise suck on his hand until it turns puffy and dries out. That is a habit that will be difficult to break later so I am hoping to prevent that now; with my first we did not have that problem and he rarely took his paci. I love that I can feel comfortable giving my son this pacifier when he does need it. It was helpful to get a good Christmas picture of my boys too!

tommee tippee pacifierThe Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature C-AIR pacifier comes in three sizes: 0-3 months, 0-6 months and 6-18 months. I personally do not allow my children to use a pacifier for a long period of time as the habit becomes more difficult to break so the fact they they only go to 18 months can be helpful as a cut-off guideline. This is actually the age that my first was completely done with his and it worked out well for us.

Tommee Tippee also sent me their Closer to Nature Chewther to try out. My son is not old enough yet to use this, but I do want to share with you some information on it right now and will update with our experience once he has tried it.

The Chewther comes in various sizes to support your baby’s various stages–3 months+, 4 months+, 6 months+, and 9 months+. This BPA free product was designed by scientists with authority in pediatric dentistry to help promote oral health. The Chewther has three main uses–chew, speak, teethe. The “chew” part is because this product is actually designed to help coordinate the jaw and muscles to prepare your baby to chewing various foods. We received the Chewther trainer for 4 months+ and this stage (stage 2) is used to help get your little one ready for pureed foods. “Speak” is because it helps to strengthen lip seal and muscle coordination that help to develop your child’s speech. The size and shape of this product is meant to promote self soothing from teething pains and stimulate and develop your baby’s gums. This is the “Teethe” part of the design. In addition, it will help to gently care for your baby’s new teeth.
