Last night, I felt overwhelmed with love and compassion and sadness and joy in my heart for all the moms, mom figures, and children I know who are celebrating and mourning Mother’s Day today. I wrote this Mother’s Day Letter to all of them, trying not to forget anyone who is worthy or in need of special words today. I posted to my personal Facebook page and realized that I want this message spread farther than that. I pray it blesses you.
If you know someone who may need to read this Mother’s Day verse, please share. We have many different share options available. YOU ARE LOVED.
I’ve not included any affiliate links or anything in here as usual. I just want to spread the message. When you’re through reading, check out some of my other posts. I hope you’ll enjoy them.
A Mother’s Day Letter to The Many Worthy
This Mother’s Day, I want to say:
♡To You Who Have Lost a Mom or Are Dealing with Alzheimer’s — I’m sending you hugs today. Hold tightly to the sweet memories. Take time for you today. I pray for peace. You are loved.
♡To You Who Wish You Had a Relationship with Your Mom — I pray you have peace today. I pray you take that and can be a mother figure to someone else in your life. You are loved.
♡To You Who Wish You Could Be a Mom — Infertility sucks. I know. Infant loss sucks. I pray you are able to have peace today. May you find hope in the frustration. You are loved.
♡To All Moms — Even if you do not feel appreciated, you are more than you know. You are amazing. You are essential. You are irreplaceable. You are loved.
♡To the Mom Suffering from PPD and Feeling Lost — Hang in there. Ask for help. It’s okay. You are far more amazing and needed than you realize. You are loved.
♡To the Pregnant Mom — Congratulations!! No matter what people say, you are already a mom. You are going to do great. Pregnancy, kids take a lot out of you, but it is so worth it. Hang in there. You are loved.
♡To the New Mom — You are that baby’s WORLD! The days and nights might be long and exhausting, hindsight makes time just fly by, but those tiny moments you share together will last in your heart for a lifetime. You are loved.
♡To the Seasoned Mom, Grandma, Great-Grandma, Great-Great-Grandma — May your day be blessed with love upon love upon love. May you raise an amazing legacy. May you be fearless. May you be honored. You are loved.
♡To the Mom of Boys — Mud. Gas. Hot Wheels. I feel you. Dandelions. Hugs. Door opening. Be still my heart. I’m a boy mom too. You are loved.
♡To the Mom of Girls — You are her example. Be someone you want her to grow up to be. Push through the challenges, especially when you see yourself in her maybe a little too much. May you be best friends forever. You are loved.
♡To the Mom of Multiples — You are superheroes. Real, live superheroes. Children are a blessing! Don’t ever let anyone tell you that you have too many. You are loved.
♡To the Special Needs Mom — It’s challenging. Therapies all the time. Doctor’s visits. Fear. Exhaustion. Confusion. And somehow you manage. You are so important. You are super-human and I so look up to you. You are loved.
♡To the Single Mom — You play the role of mom and dad. You are strong. You are brave. May you have the energy and love to keep on doing the best, may you have the confidence and boldness and wisdom you need, and may you have time to rest and recuperate. May your kids grow to honor you and recognize all you do for them. You are loved.
♡To the Single Dad — Thank you for stepping into both roles. It’s not easy doing it alone, but you are amazing. May your kids grow to appreciate all you do for them, all you sacrifice. May they see how much you love them. May they grow into amazing adults. You are loved.
♡To the Mom Who Has Lost Children — I’m sending hugs your way. May those sweet kids stay snuggled in your hearts. I pray you have hope and peace and strength and courage today. You are loved.
♡To the Mom Who Aborted and Lives Every Day Wishing You Hadn’t — I’m sending hugs to you too. We all make decisions that we have to live with, some good, some not so good. Sometimes they feel like the only choice, but in hindsight we wish things had gone differently. But God, God forgives. You don’t need to live with that weight. I pray you are able to hug that sweet baby again someday in Heaven. You are loved.
♡To the Mom Who Gave Your Babies for Adoption For the Sake of Your Baby — You are brave. That’s a hard thing to do. You are loved.
♡To the Adoptive Mom — Thank you for loving them as your own. Thank you for stepping up and providing. You are amazing. You are loved.
♡To the Foster Mom — You are called. Not everyone can do what you do, and you are so important. Thank you. May the joys be greater than the sorrows. You are loved.
♡To the Mom Whose Kids Have Moved Out — I hope you get a phone call today or even a surprise visit. Stay in touch with them as much as you can. Schedules are busy, but make the time. Make them make the time. Because life is short. You are loved.
♡To the Mom Whose Kids are Estranged — Sometimes bad choices tear people away from each other. Sometimes things don’t go as planned. Sometimes bad influences sneak in. Sometimes kids are jerks. But it is never too late to make things right. They may not accept it, at least not yet, but make it right for you. No one is perfect. No kid. No parent. I send you hugs today. You are loved.
♡To the Stepmom Who Has Stepped Up — Thank you. You have an important role too. Your love and support is needed and appreciated. You are loved.
♡To the Mother-in-Law — Thank you for raising your child. You’ve played a key role. I pray you are able to have an amazing relationship with your daughter-in-law or son-in-law. It’s not always easy, but it’s important. You are loved.
♡To the Surrogate Mom — Thank you for the amazing gift of hope you are giving to another family. It is not easy. You have to uproot much of your life, follow a bunch of rules, and grow a baby for someone else. It’s truly a wonderful thing, and there are not many who can do what you do. You are important. You are incredible. You are loved.
♡To the Friend, Sister, Aunt, and Mom Figure — You are awesome. Thank you for being fun. Thank you for being supportive. Thank you for stepping up. You are loved.
♡To the Teacher Who Loves Her Students As Her Children — You play such an integral role. May you serve honorably and love wholly. May you have rest and reward. You are loved.
♡To the Pet Mom — I will not forget you! Not everyone can have kids. Not everyone wants to have kids. But I hope you have an amazing day today, taking care of your sweet pets as if they were your children. Thank you for loving your animals as part of your family. You are loved.
♡To You Who Have Moms and Grandmothers — Go call them. Write to them. Visit them. Bring them snacks. Tell them “thank you.” Let them know they are appreciated. Let them know they are loved.
More people play “mom” roles than get credit. We appreciate you all. You are loved!
There are so many worthy. So many I want to hug (and I’m not even a “hugger”). So many of us that fall into many of these categories and not just one. Have courage. Have rest. Have joy today. May you have a blessed Mother’s Day.
