If your baby is used to breastfeeding mainly, finding a bottle to use in the meantime can be a challenge. With my first child, he was not on bottles at all because I wanted to nurse, couldn’t pump, and when we did try bottles he just wouldn’t take any of them. Finally, as we transitioned him to drinking cow milk and drinking from a sippy cup, we di
scovered the regular Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature bottles. While he did not use them very long and he was over a year old at the time, these bottles were the only ones he would take and they were the key to his easy transition.
With my newest son I am having the same problem where I cannot pump and I want to feed him Mommy milk, at least mainly, so it has taken a while for me to be able to test out these bottles. Since my husband is now home, I really wanted him to have the chance to feed our 4-month-old baby boy so we tried out some formula in the anti-colic bottle. My son took to the bottle right away so I could tell it felt natural to him–though he kept looking up at me confused how I was over there and he was by Daddy–but he did not enjoy the formula. I am hoping to be able to start pumping here and there or even find a formula that our son will take so my husband can at least feed him some snacks and I will surely be using our Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature bottles.
Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature bottles are made to mimic Mommy in their shape, “stretchability”, and flexibility. The nipples are a natural-feeling silicone with an easy-latch shape and super-sensitive valve. They have different flow options for different stages: slow flow for 0m+, medium flow for 3m+, fast flow for 6m+ and variflow for all ages and feeds 0m+. The Added Comfort Anti-Colic bottle is made to prevent air bubbles in the milk while your baby is drinking which in turn prevents colic and the venting tubes change color if the milk is too hot. These bottles BPA-free and are pretty much the closest to nature that you will get in a bottle.
The Added Comfort Anti-Colic bottle is exclusively sold at Babies R Us stores and the original Feeding Bottle is sold at both Babies R Us and Target. I adored Tommee Tippee with my daughter and I am looking forward to using them again with my son! I’m glad they worked for you! I recommend them to all my breast feeding friends!
Awesome! Yes, Tommee Tippee bottles are my favorite and I always recommend them too 🙂
Will definitely give them a try with my next baby. Thanks for the great review!
You’re welcome! Glad you found it helpful 🙂
Would have loved to have had this type of bottle when I had my children, especially my first. I was unable to nurse her soon after her birth, due to being ill. None of the bottles available back then prevented colic.
Yes, we are so spoiled now with everything they have out now days!
Wow! I’m definitely going to have to check these bottles out when my husband and I have our next baby. Thank you so much for a great review. 🙂
You’re welcome! Definitely come back and let me know what you think if you decide to try them out!
Used these for both of my babies and loved them! Will be using them again for my third when it comes time to bottle feed her! 🙂
Glad to hear they worked great for you! 🙂
