I love storms–the smell, the light show, the patter of the rain…my son, on the other hand, does not always feel the same way. I agree with him that some storms are scarier than others but I do not want him feeling afraid so we try to come up with fun “Rainy Day” activities during the storms.
When the thunder rolls and lightning strikes, I like to come up with ways to make it not seem as bad. Some people say it is God bowling with the angels. I tell my son that God is throwing a parade! We listen for the different instruments, watch the “fireworks,” and grab out the pots and pans to play along with God’s marching band.
