Delicious and simple meatballs made with crushed CheeseSticks. This is a delightfully cheesy and savory dinner; the meatballs can be enjoyed in a meatball sub, with spaghetti, or on their own.
Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
1 egg
1 Tablespoon olive oil
2 garlic cloves, finely minced
Pinch of sea salt
¼ teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon onion powder
Pinch crushed red pepper flakes
⅛ teaspoon cayenne pepper
⅛ teaspoon coriander seed
¼ cup John Wm. Macy's CheeseSticks, Garlic Romano, crushed (about 3 sticks, use a food processor or put them in a baggie and run them over with a rolling pin)
¼ cup parmesan cheese, grated
1-15 oz. can pizza sauce (I used Cento brand)
4 Sub rolls
4 slices provolone cheese
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 400ºF
Combine the meat, egg, oil, spices, parmesan, and crushed CheeseSticks in a bowl until mixed well.
Roll the meat into balls 1.5-2 inches in diameter.
Bake the meatballs 20 minutes, flipping occasionally, until cooked thoroughly.
