Simple Fall Wreath Tutorial

Simple Fall Wreath TutorialWe are going through a major change. As the weather is turning from hot to cold, our home decor is also getting a cool new face lift. Out with the spring wreath and in with the fall. Wreaths are a cheerful way to welcome your guests and give your house some seasonal flare, but some people don’t feel crafty enough to make them. That’s why I am sharing this simple fall wreath tutorial, that anyone can do, with you.

Grapevine wreaths are a great place to start when you are new to wreath making, because they are so versatile, easy to decorate, and look beautiful.

What You Need

Directions

1. First you will want to plan where you want to put all your decorations. You don’t need to be too specific, but it is good to get an idea before you begin cutting and gluing.

2. If using ribbon, start there (I will share another with ribbon when I post about my “fall wall”.) I started with leaves of various sizes. You will want to cut them with a little of the stem still attached so you can slide it between the twigs (if you purchase a sprig or garland–loose leaves will work as well if needed.) Layer the leaves around a corner using multiple sizes and colors. Add a little hot glue to the tip and stick it into place. If needed, add a little more hot glue into where the leaf was inserted to keep the it in place.

A gorgeous wreath! I love the scarecrow, he looks so cute on there! x

  3. I had an aunt who had a real knack for crafty things like this. Some people have a natural instinct to make these things, while others (cough…me…cough) do it and it looks like a pile of twigs.

    • Haha I hear ya. The good thing with this is that the wreath part is pre-made, so all you have to do is glue things on! You can even mimic exactly what was done on this wreath, so it’s great for beginning crafters or those who think they can’t do it.

  4. This is so cute with the little scarecrow tucked in there. And not too hard! Luv!

  5. That is so pretty! I think even an uncrafty person like me might could do this. You make everything look so easy!

  6. What a beautiful wreath. I’ve been wanting to get one for fall and this looks so festive. Great job on it! πŸ™‚
