April is the month of the Military child. As a military family, this means there will be a lot of recognition and activities until the end of the month, just for military kids. One way to celebrate and take care of military children is by making sure those beautiful smiles are healthy with MetLife TRICARE dental.
Military kids go through a lot and often do not get the credit they deserve, so I am glad for a special month set aside just for them. My kids, as young as they are, have already been through a lot due to Daddy being away for training or deployments. They have shown me how very strong they are and helped me to be stronger than I ever thought I could be.
Even during hardships, military kids find time to smile. And don’t forget those ear-to-ear smiles that come when a parent returns from time away from the family! Smiles are definitely something to preserve through pictures and proper dental care.
MetLife TRICARE (TDP) offers dental coverage for military families. This program is available to all dependents of active duty service members and Reservists, including spouses and children (even stepchildren, adopted children, and court-ordered wards.)
With this program, you will receive two cleanings and two exams at an in-network dentist per year at no additional costs as well as two topical fluoride treatments during a consecutive 12-month time period. It also includes one $1200 accidental annual maximum for each TDP enrollee.
Some other benefits of MetLife TRICARE dental are included below:
- Sealants on permanent molars (@ 20% cost share) for children up to age 18
- Orthodontics for children up to age 21 (or 23 if that child is a full-time student)
- Space maintainers (100% coverage) for children under 19-years-old
- 1 Athletic Mouth Guard (@ 50% cost share) during a consecutive 12-month period
MetLife TDP does come along with your TRICARE insurance already, however, you will need to enroll separately to receive coverage.
