Realistic Resolution Challenge and Gorton’s Grilled Seafood Review, Giveaway, & Recipe

Disclaimer: I received a free product for my post! These views are my own and were not
at all influenced by the party who gave me this opportunity..

Gorton's Grilled Seafood Review. Click the picture to see the review and a recipe! While I do not make specific New Year’s Resolutions, I do set small, monthly goals for myself each year. This year my goals include to become more organized and healthier. I like to bite off small pieces at a time and having helpful tools can make all the difference. One way I am working to be healthier is by organizing meals so we eat out less (plus, this can save us money!) Gorton’s and the SparkPeople Realistic Resolutions Challenge have been a great help lately!

The 30-day Realistic Resolution Challenge is the perfect place to start if you are wanting to start a new, healthy lifestyle.  Each day, for 30 days, you will receive an email with a challenge. Each challenge is simple to do and there are some great resources and information included. You can log in every day and collect points for completing the challenge as a way to encourage you in your goals.

Some examples of challenges you will see on this program are drinking more water to curb snack cravings, swapping out chicken or beef with fish twice a week, and knowing how big your servings should actually be. I signed up a few days ago and have been trying to check in and change how I plan for that day.

You can participate in this 30-day challenge too and start your year off on the right foot! Go HERE to sign up for free!

Gorton’s Grilled Seafood has been helping with my nutritious-eating challenge. Most often we eat beef or chicken for dinner, but I have been able to easily substitute out for tilapia and salmon with the help of Gorton’s.

What I Love

Gorton’s frozen fish fillets are so convenient and easy to prepare. All I had to do to make a delicious lunch or dinner was to take the fish from the freezer, pop it in the oven, and let it cook. They are already prepared and pre-seasoned so I don’t have to do those extra steps.

These taste great! Frozen fish that is pre-prepared sometimes makes me nervous. I have had too many experiences with hidden bones and mushy texture. To my delight, I found Gorton’s Grilled to be just what I had hoped for. It tasted amazing by itself and in recipes, it didn’t have the “fishy” taste I really don’t like, and it had a delightful flaky texture as it is supposed to. It honestly tasted better than some of the fish I have had at popular restaurants and it was so much less expensive!

One of my other goals this year is to slowly try to take gluten out of my diet, so it works out perfectly that the grilled varieties are gluten free! Varieties include Regular Fillets (Lemon Pepper, Garlic Butter, Lemon Butter, Cajun Blackened, Italian Herb), Salmon (Classic, Lemon Butter), Tilapia (Roasted Garllic & Butter, Signature, Lemon Peppercorn), and Haddock (Signature.) My favorites so far are the Signature Tilapia and Classic Salmon.

What I’m Not Huge On

The only thing I had an issue with was that the top of the fillet held a lot of liquid (oils is what I am thinking) after being cooked. I scraped it off, no problems, but I would have preferred it to have a little less of that.

Overall, I love these fillets. They are an easy way to get some omega-3 fatty acids and lean protein in your diet and a nice break from the usual meats. The varieties I have tested have all tasted amazing and healthy, homemade meals so much more achievable for me.
